Donald Linde Drain, 83 of West Chester

Donald Linde Drain, 83 of West Chester, PA, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at home. He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. Drain.

Born December 30, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Donald Smith Drain and the late Ethel Emma Drain.

Don served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Business Management.  Though he was a lifelong entrepreneur with several different business ventures throughout his life, his main career was as a Human Resources Executive - first at Saint Francis Hospital and then at Pennsylvania Hospital where he retired in 1996.  He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester where he served on the personnel committee for many years.

Don was full of life and faith.  Always a “people person” who lived for his family.  He was an avid reader and in his spare time enjoyed running, bird watching, gardening, swimming, riding bikes, vacationing, and beating everyone at cards.  He also was a lifelong die-hard Eagles fan and loved to drive his Honda to Eagles games whenever he got the chance.

He is survived by his brothers, David H. Drain of Golden, CO and John M. Drain of Abington, PA; his children, Daniel E. Drain (Millie), Donald Scott Drain (Bambi), Colleen M. Trego (John), Karen A. Brolley (John), Timothy M. Drain (Claire), Michelle J. Holman (Zach), and James A. Drain; his grandchildren Kelsey and Emily Drain, Erin and Donald Adam Drain, Christa, Shana, and Joshua Trego, Ian and Meghan Brolley, Katie, William, Elizabeth, and Charles Drain, and Annamae Holman; his great grandchildren Brinklee and Daulton Reppert; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation starting at 1:30 pm followed by his Memorial Service at 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA 19382. Private interment for family will be in Westminster’s Memorial Garden following the service.
