Forrest Lester Garrison, Jr., age 98, passed away peacefully in Honey Brook, PA, on October 30, 2020. Born on November 11, 1921, in West Grove, PA, he was the son of the late Forrest Lester Garrison, Sr. and Mamie M. Garrison.
He graduated from Prospect Park High School and served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. Following the war, he attended Drexel University. He worked in computer support for the General Electric Company in both Philadelphia and King of Prussia.
Forrest was active in the Great Valley Presbyterian Church in Malvern for over fifty years. He impacted many lives through his work as a youth group leader, Sunday School teacher and Boy’s Brigade leader. He also served his Lord as a choir member and Deacon for many years and will be remembered for his laughter, love of singing and willingness to help others.
Forrest is survived by Jean F. Garrison, his wife of 74 years. Also surviving are his sister, Beth Duane of Santa Maria, CA, four sons, Stephen (Sandra) of Downingtown, Kenneth (Dale) of Malvern, F. Lester, III (Wanda) of Coatesville, and Richard (Diane) of Chester Springs. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Walls. He will be truly missed.
