M. Louise Reeps (Meyer) of Springfield

On 5/9/2019,

passed away peacefully surrounded by those that loved and cared for her. Louise was a longtime resident of Springfield, Delaware County and was pre-deceased by her parents, Jacob and Amalie Meyer, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters, her first husband, John Wolf who gave his life in WWII, and her second husband, William Reeps. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Davis of Haverford and Jan Reeps of Lancaster County, three grandchildren, Amy Larson (Davis), Peter Davis and Dale Ann Lucas, and seven great-grandchildren: Kyle, Julia, Connor, Tyler Larson, Jordan Davis and Sarah and Morgan Lucas.

Louise was a long-time member of the Church of the Redeemer in Springfield and a member of the Women’s Guild. Her needlework in satin and silk altar scarves was greatly admired. She was a former member of Eastern Star, Girl Scout leader, volunteered for the March of Dimes and a garden volunteer for the Chester County Visitors Bureau. She also spent many hours knitting caps and scarves for the Seaman’s Church Institute.

Louise loved traveling, was an avid gardener and had a deep love of nature. She excelled in raising violets, orchids and her favorite flowers, daffodils.


There will be a Memorial Service on June 23, 2019 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kennett Square. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Partners Creating Community, a nonprofit supporting the needs of adults with special and developmental challenges.
